NZTA Driver Relicensing (for indefinite Disqualification Only)

A professional service of alcohol and drug assessment and safe driver education that gives:

  • Awareness of safe drinking
  • Awareness of safe driving
  • Freedom to drive legally
  • Job opportunities
  • Back on the road safely

Steps to Take:

  1. Contact Hope works near the end of your disqualification
  2. Have an alcohol and drug assessment. This involves talking about the “what, when and how” of your alcohol and/or drug use
  3. Attend an appointment with your General practitioner which will include having a blood and urine screen.
  4. As a result of these two assessments the doctor will make a recommendation, which may include between 1 to 3 months monitoring blood and urine screens to follow an improvement in screen results.
  5. Attend the driver’s education safe driving course. This one-day course focuses on the effects of drinking and driving.
  6. When all the requirements of this process are completed, your file with the doctor’s report and final report sent to the New Zealand transport authority (NZTA) for signing off
  7. Wait for the NZTA to contact you to advise if/when you can apply for your license and the requirements to reset your license
  8. if all goes well with NZTA G9et your license and get back on the road safely

Some things to note.
All information assessments, tests and recommendations will be sent to the NZTA who will decide if they are happy that you are safe to be on the road.

They will contact you with their decision following successful completion of step four.

Unless you have personally paid for the assessment the NZTA will remain the owners of the information gathered. They are not Hope works will be able to release information to you is the applicant
